Can using a Nook or Kindle help the reluctant readers?
From a recent article entitled "There's an App For That" in Parenting, "Another option for parents is the Kindle or Nook. The Kindle is an electronic reader developed by Amazon and the Nook is a product of Barnes and Noble. Both allow users to store hundreds of book and purchase them at a cheaper rate online. More recent versions of both also have WiFi access and touch screens.
"Anything that encourages students to read is good. I have a Kindle and I feel like I read more now than I ever did," Sarah Marandos, Tech Integration Specialist, Nashua School District said. "Any technology you can get in the hands of your kids to get them comfortable is good."
